I always had anxiety growing up, Recently I was diagnosed with crohns disease...and my anxiety has gotten worse
My triggers are outside, thinking about what happend to me(almost died from crohns), talking to ppl, walking alone
I went to see help, and all they think I want xanax to get high...but I dont, so I stoped going because they were giving me pills that dont work, and I already take enough pills for my condition(15 to be exact0

i recommend you get CBT or acceptance and commitment therapy. These two have been shown to help anxiety sufferers. Certainly Crohns can increase any patients anxiety. From my experience, i would do my best to stay away from xanax, valium and those types. I have had success with Prozac, u may need to try a number of ssris until you find one that sits well with you, which will take some time. Psychological therapy and medication is the way to go, recommended by many therapists and doctors.

Hello and welcome to the A & P Forum.
Anxiety accompanies so many medical conditions so please know you are not alone. You have a new dx and you are struggling to deal with that so know that what you are experiencing is normal.

I would like to suggest you ask for a referral to a therapist as one on one therapy will help you to understand your feelings and help you to learn ways to deal with your anxiety and fears.

My hubsand has Crohn's so I understand your anxiety and fears. Also our dear Lyn, our senior moderator here in this forum, has Crohn's so I know you will be hearing from her.

Hi! I too suffer from Crohns and axiety disorder. So many people just do not understand how it feels to have to plan out every single detail of your day. Please let me know if you need someone to talk to. Hang in there--people will become more accepting and/or you will learn to aline yourself with people who understand. Take care
