Good afternoon
I haven't posted for quite some time. I am bipolar and suffer from severe anxiety. I was hospitalized in 08 for extreme anxiety and have been on at least 10 different meds since then. Some at the same time. I was on Celexa, Lamotrogine and Buspar earlier this year. But I still felt miserable. The anxiety was tolerable but I was so depressed, exhausted, and felt worthless. I had asked my dr before to try new meds but he didn't do it. Well in early Jul I told him I could not take it any longer, I have been sick since Jan 07 in one way or another. I have the type of depression where one's body hurts. I used Cymbalta for that but it stopped working. This time he listened and asked me some questions about my body pain and fatigue. He then put me on Savella, used as an a/d in Europe but approved in the US for fibromyalgia. He didn't say he that I had fibro and I don't care what you call it as long as you fix it. Anyway with Savella I began feeling better within 5 days and am now almost back to my pre-2007 self. I also was put on prescription Vit D because I have a chronically low Vit D level. So maybe it was Savella, maybe the Vit D, or maybe a combination. Whatever works!!

Hello Georgie,
My P-doc discussed Savella for Anxiety and Depression as a drug to keep in mind.  Right now I am on Effexor and it seems to be helping however it took a lot of adjusting to get to a dose that seemed good for me.
Ove the past 28 years I have been on many of the medications and some have worked really well but pooped out.
The hunt for a new med is always difficult so I am glad you found what works for you.
