I just took an antidepressant for three days and felt so wretched the doctor told me to stop. It is now 5 days  after stopping and my anxiety is way worse than before taking it. I suspect it tweaked something in my brain that has not calmed down yet....but it is really bad!!
Has anyone else had this destabilizing effect after taking any medication in low doses short term.

No I have not had this happen after taking 3 doses and then stopping.

It's not likely at all after only three doses. It is common when starting some medications (like SSRIs) to feel a little more nervous than usual, but it passes after a couple of  weeks and then you get the good benefitrs from the meds. It would be helpful to try a medication for at least two/three weeks before giving up because of side effects that will most likely lessen or disappear. It's also common for a doctor to prescribe something, temporarily, to help counteract the initial side effects of SSRIs or other antidepressants for panic disorder, usually a benzodiazepine like Xanax or Klonopin. Maybe you should ask your doctor about this.
God bless.
