Hey everyone, hope everyones doing well. I've been doing good until yesterday morning and now I need someone to talk to. I've been having these kinda dull pains in the side of my chest off and on for some time. They never usually last more than a day. Its on the side under my arm like if someone poked me with something. I didn't worry much at first because all of my heart tests came back fine last year. I'm waiting for my fiancee to get off work so I can go to the ER just to be on the safe side and I'm just trying to keep calm while I'm waiting. I m just wrecking my brain and my nerves wondering what's wrong with me. I thought it may be a blood clot but the pain moves around and kinda eases when I rub it. I've even thought it may be breast cancer or some other kind of cyst. I'm just getting scared I'm worried that its serious....

I forgot to mention that they've been stronger and have lasted for more than 24 hrs that's why I'm thinking about going to the ER

I am sorry to hear you are having problems but I am wondering if you are having chest wall pain ?

Many things may cause chest pain and I hope you get to the bottom of the reason for your pain today. We are here to support you so please let us know how you make out after your ER visit.

Kindly,

Kitt

Thanks Kitt..I have had an ER doc tell me that a chest pain I was having was chest wall pain about 5 years ago but I don't remember it feeling like this. I get a lot of different pains with this sometimes it aches like I pulled a muscle or laid the wrong way the night before. But what worries me it the stabbing pain it feels like its in the muscle or breast tissue ( which is why I came up with the whole breast cancer thing). And I forgot to metion its on my left side sometimes around my ribcage but mostly under my arm. I will be sure to give you an update after I go to the ER.

Obviously you need to rule out any medical issues, but if it helps I've had some of those same physical sensations and been fortunately able to rule out medical causes. Sometimes it feels like something is piercing through my heart, other times like a pulled muscle, sometimes it goes across my chest, but usually it's just the left side which I think is scarier because we start thinking it's a heart problem. Still other times it's a pain like some coin sized object being pressed against my chest near my heart.

If it is indeed "just" anxiety and I use the word just lightly - then your body may be trying to tell you something. The question then becomes... what?

Sorry it took me a while to get back, the ER doc said it was some sort of muscle pain I dont really sleep in a comfortable position because at some point EVERY night both of my kids climb into our bed so I end up in some twisted uncomfortable position...lol...I just wish it was somewhere other than my chest...
