okay i have to say i feel more relaxed and not anxious when i do not take my thyroid medicine.  i haven't had it checked in awhile but everytime i have over the last 5 years, it's never hyperthyroid.  could my synthroid be contributing?  i only take 1/2 of a .75 micro whatever they dose them as.  i used to take .25 but we upped it for some reason.  probably because my tsh was too high.  like 5.something.  i swear i feel better with a higher tsh though.  is everyone different?  maybe it's just stress.

i just heard of a guy dying instantly in a marathon here where i live.  he was perfectly healthy.  reading about that kind of thing makes me more anxious - health anxiety.  knowing anything could happen to us at any time freaks me out.  i know i shouldn't think like that but i do.  ugh!

I've known a few people over the years that have had issues with their thyroids, and that the medicine has been most helpful with the anxiety. If it seems to be working well, let your doc know so they can keep you tested and adjusted on your meds :)

I also used to worry tons about young people that have died around me, and wondering if I would be next. . . Not a good thought path and I've been using my CBT tools that I learned to keep me from my 'What if?" thinking. Have you tried using MoodGYM that is a free resource on here?
