Hi Everybody, I wanted to tell you all about
a cool thing that happened tonight. First of all this week has been the busiest week of the year for me at work. I had eleven mini-nutcracker recitals with my classes, performing all week long. This is a lot of organizing, pressure, and also physically taxing-but pretty exciting and fun as well. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. I also had a stressful family situation recently (between my oldest daughter, myself and my sister who insists on getting involved) My anxiety is opputunistic and loves to make an appearance when I'm tired, and wrung out emotionally!
Anyway back to tonight, I'm stressed and having physical sx. I have one more recital, taking one extraodinary class to perform at a retirement home. I have been looking forward to this, but suddenly, I don't feel well, and have to drag myself there. I'm wondering how I'm going to pull this last one off, feeling yucky as I do. Well, as soon as we started, and I saw the joy on the residents faces as they watched my girls dancing, the anxiety fled. I also enjoyed seeing the girls connect with another generation, as afterward they met with the seniors, talking and doing more impromtu dance steps for them! I was dreading something that turned out to be a blessing to many people, once I got outside of myself, and focused on others.
I am grateful for the lesson.
Thanks for listening!
