1) yesterday at work, 2 of our colleagues got into a little work squabble, it was something that the other staff here have kinda got used to it and sometimes they would laugh if off in amusement, like when are these 2 gonna make peace with each other
(maybe its the age gap thingie coz one is a young n a little temperamental lady, the other is a much elderly lady, like a mother and daughter relationship). but yesterday it was slightly more heated and the elderly lady had raised her voice. my desk being located just next to them, so i couldn't totally switch off. i felt a little uncomfortable. after a while, both cool down and get on with their work.
But guess what?? me started feeling a little breathless and tense after hearing their earlier commotion and was trying to control the anxiety from turning into panic. i took half an ativan and try to focus with breathing exercises. at the same time, i felt like a fool, thinking to myself, what is this?? someone else had a squabble and they are just fine doing abt their work, but there i was getting physical symptoms for nothing.
how can i be more laid back (like the old me )and not be easily affected by these kinda daily little things which are beyond my control?
2) some weeks back, my sister had text me that she was on medical leave coz she had some chest pains (due to lack of rest and some stress then), she is fine and recovered now, but when i first received the msg, i started feeling panicky and a little breathless. it took quite awhile to distract myself. but once i overcome it, i felt like this is something i need to manage, its like an irrational respnse to a situation?? :(
3) on days when i feel tired or hormonal, other irrational emotions like guilt, stress, loneliness can also pop up without valid reasons.. any tips on kicking the irrational feelings in a simple way?
