Maybe someone out there can relate to me and would like to give me their imput or opinion. I started having panic attacks in 2000 and tried all sorts of medication. I eventually believed i could manage them on my own so went off the medication and tried to cope alone. Things seemed to be ok for a while but every now and then i would get a racing heart, sweaty palms, dry mouth, tight chest and total panic...i truly believed i was having a heart attack and feared the worse. After numeours doctors visits and ECG's etc, my doctor finally did a whole lot of tests and picked up that my body producess an excess of cortisol. Which basically means i have too much adrenalin in my body so i dont cope well in stressful situations. But the funny thing is that its when i am totally relaxed or in a good mood or driving etc or even sleeping, that my heart seems to start racing out of nowhere! I am now back on Solian and i am still getting these attacks and you always fear the worst because my heart races out of control and i feel like passing out. Why would this happen for no reason and how long does it usually last because i have had a racing heart (bp of 130 beats p minute) for 24 hours before and its so frightening. Does anyone else have these episodes and how long does your heart race for?
