Hi friends! We are home at last. We had a very difficult flight back. We were stuck at the airport for over five hours with weather delays. When we got on the plane finally, we waited on the tarmac for what was going on an hour. Finally they announced that someone was having a medical emergency and the paramedics were en route.
Turns out a poor guy had an episode (anxiety?) on the plane, but was able to walk off-no wheelchair or stretcher. I felt so bad for him. At this point we were bumped out of line for take off. Long story short (sort of) it took us, all told, 13+ hrs. to get home;(
I feel really proud for not having any panic relapses. I was able to deal with lack of sleep, change in schedule/environment, flying, dealing with in-laws(!!), constant socializing, and stressful travelling situations all in five days.
I did have some physical symptoms one morning. I felt shaky and 'off', but I practiced my breathing and positive mantras, and the feeling went away. I had a lot of anticipatory anxiety regarding a relapse on this trip, but it was really fine:)
I want to say thank-you to all the members here. I am grateful for the strength and support that I feel from each of you. I don't think that anyone else but you guys can appreciate just how huge this is for me to come through. I knew all through the trip that you guys would be there for me if I fell apart, and that had everything to do with me making it!
Thanks again, and it is GREAT to be home
