Many people have high blood pressure which is regulated with blood pressure medication. With regular doctors visits to ensure that the medications are doing their job, and no other underlying problems, people can lead a very normal life-style. I have had hypertension for 30 years and here I am answering your question.
I would speculate the people you referred of that died had other underlying causes involved in their death.
Try to stop the spinning thoughts. Big deep breath and know that you will be OK.
