Roll call... hmmm...
I've been doing pretty well. I packed in the EMDR pre-sessions the past couple weeks. I did three sessions last week which was basically an intake and then two sessions doing an intake on trauma history. Then I learned touch feel therapy on Monday and did my first EMDR therapy yesterday.
It was interesting to say the least. My mind went places in the locked memory that I had forgotten about. It's weird, I can almost smell the ocean again. (I was in Florida for my trauma incident and lived beachside)
I have another EMDR session tomorrow and I will be going twice a week. I like the therapist. He has great experience and whatnot.
My relationship however is crumbling, but I am making no quick decisions right now because large transitions or stressors are not recommended during EMDR therapy.
I am now able to stay alone with my daughter all day long and have picked up her a couple of times from my mother in law's alone. I also took her to the store yesterday from my house. (I've had a big fear of going anywhere alone with her) We took it easy and went shopping at CVS.
I love my shrink, I've seen her about 4 times now and we are always on the same page. LOVE her! I'm going to be lowering my dose of Neurontin once I'm deeper into EMDR. The med is causing my tinnitus to ring so loudly that I have a hard time hearing people.
How are the rest of you doing?
