Hi everyone I also belong to the fibro forum but am diagnosed with health anxiety and general anxiety also. Just wondering if anyone with anxiety issues has experienced this, a feeling of buzzing or humming in my foot and near my thumb on my left hand.

I spoke to my gp and she seems to think it's anxiety related, I got so worked up about it I had an anxiety attack....hope someone else has this thanks shannon cry

HI Shannon,

One of the most frustrating things about HA is our inability to deal with symptoms that are new and unfamiliar from our normal litany of complaints. Whether you are in a current fit of anxiety, or have been feeling better for days, months or years, a new symptom is often the first thing to derail a sufferer of HA back into the downward spiral. I truly believe that to permanently conquer HA, people will often have to conquer the underlying issues such as fear of lack of control, fear of uncertainty, etc. even if one may not think that there is anything past the health anxiety itself. However, to begin that particular healing process, I think learning to deal with new symptoms that crop up is pretty essential in helping the healing process along.

I am wondering if you have a therapist to help you learn how to deal with the Anxiety ?  I have a therapist and she is a great help in teaching me ways to lower my anxiety levels.

You may want to check out our resources at the top of this forum as there are links to topics including meditation etc. to teach you how to deal with anxiety.

Kindly,

Kitt

Hi kitt, thanks for the reply, yes I have been seeing a psychiatrist and I was doing really well until yesterday, I think I got myself all worked up and couldn't calm down...

And of course I googled which everyone with any kind of anxiety knows is the biggest no no you find the worst things and then dwell on them.

I'm feeling better today,thank you

Oh no! Be careful with Google...I have trouble remembering what I ate for lunch yesterday, but can recall with perfect clarity some horrifying diagnoses that I read about after symptom searching...over a year ago!!!

I hope you continue to feel better:)
