I have like pressure in the back of my head it kind of makes me lightheaded or like on that elevator feeling, i no longer feel myself, these symptoms all got worse after going off celexa, i was on 10 mg of celexa in june and in july went to 20 mg, and seemed to get stronger panic attacks so i weened down probably a bit too fast though and havent taken any since maybe september 4th, does anyone know how long the withdrawls stay with you, i had my heart enzmes checked about a month ago came back normal, also checked for embolisms came back normal, i just dont understand the head pressure and dizzyness/ light headedness and chest pain, my leg pain is getting worse but i do have ddd in the back along with bulging disks in c4 and c5 of neck and L4 and L5 in low back, can that be causing these problems, i really feel like im dying and keep thinking a big heart attack is very soon, or a stroke, im 33 yr old male, i don't drink, i dont do drugs, i don't smoke, but i chew snuff, and also dont get much exercise at all

Hey Scaredofswine, i recently started celexa 5 1/2 weeks ago and the first few weeks i did feel the light headed, elevator feeling in the back of my head, also it was irritating because it felt numb and un-workable, those lasted a few weeks, although im not sure about the withdrawls im guessing those same symptoms would be because of the celexa and also the leg pain, numbness, dizzyniss all sound like what i had when i started the med. also the pressure of the chest and arms sometimes feel numb and very small pains. in my oppinion i think thats the panic trying to make you mad. All of those symptoms sound like anxiety to me, but if you are having/had an attack and you want medical attention do not be imbarrased about calling an ambulance or going to er because its your body, they have to look at you and examine you no matter what they think. and they might think anxiety/panic is silly but all of us here know its no laughing matter, i was quite with mine alot because i felt "imbarrased" or thought people would think im crazy, but i learned to have myself treated the way i wanted to be treated.

Hope you get treated quickly and start feeling better

Ty

I am sorry to read that you are in panic mode as I understand this feeling well.

I strongly suggest you call your clinic and talk to the triage nurse as she will be able to advise you as to what to do.  Triage nurses have a direct pipeline to the Dr. so do call now.

I do suspect you are having a panic attack but I am not a physician so if you are concerned about your heart and feel you are in an emergency situation call 911.

Know we are here for you and take a big deep breath............sending you good vibes.

Kindly,

Kitt

Thanks TY and Thanks Stkitt, well after hours of suffering i made several calls to alot of family around 6:30 am i couldn't take it no more, and finally my brother in law woke up and to me to the E.R, my BP was 127/87 and pulse was 102, this was still after almost 2mg of xanax, and continued to have some chest pain but it did get a little better, so they did a chest xray, and a E.K.G they said the E.K.G was good and they said i had costochondritis, it's like inflamation of the ribs and breastbone and sometimes can feel like a heart attack, but they said it has nothing to do with your heart or lungs and that it could take a few weeks to go away, so that was some decent news i didn't mind hearing, they prescribed LODINE 300 MG and ATARAX 50 MG, but i'm very leary on medications, I am just gonna continue with my xanax, And TY just be careful with that celexa, it did seem to help a bit at first but then wow, my attacks became stronger especially coming off, but like i said i think i weened off too fast i went from 20mg to 15 to 10 to 5 to about 2.5 all within about 3 weeks to a month, my brother also has alot of the same symptoms he is 41 and just found out he has high cholestrol, that is my next step to have my cholestrol checked, I just hate that head pressure and spaced out feeling i get anymore with these panic attacks, and left arm pain and numbness, my pysch said anxiety can go through different phases and symptoms, but hope all of you get better, thank you for the kind words, i appreciate it.

Good to know that you checked out fine SOS!

The costo symptoms seen to be a common anxiety trigger...if you do a search here at HW, you will find more that a few references I bet. I guess anything that caused chest pain would be!

I am glad that you are feeling a bit better. Try to do your stress-busting activities like regular exercise and breathing and muscle relaxation techniques...they really help.:)

Take care,
