Hello Mommy and welcome!
I am sorry to hear of your anxiety problems and the tough upbringing that I am sure contributed to them. However, there is hope for improvement and even recovery.
It is a great first step to post here and reach out for help. We understand what you are going through completely, and you are sure to find valuable information here as well as support.
Since you have a fear of taking medications (very common phobia) then I would suggest looking into therapy to treat your anxiety. CBT is a very effective form of therapy that many of us here can recommend.
You can start by seeing your doctor and getting a referral, checking with your insurance provider, or looking in your local listings.
We also have a great Resource Guide (main page 3rd post) that has some links to videos that teach self-help tecniques for stopping panic attacks, and other coping strategies.
Please feel free to post here anytime...you may even want to start your own thread of introduction! We are here to help and listen:)
