Just seen my GP and had the kite test to test my breathing after I told her about my shortness of breath. Not sure what the technical name for the test is but I passed with no issues. But, since then I feel it's gotten worse, I have had every heart test minus the thing ran up my leg and they all came back fine. I have really bad reflux, but it just seems like now just getting up and walking and I feel short of breath, dizzy and nauseous. When I'm sleeping or sitting no issues. My blood pressure is really good and I was running two miles about 3 days a week a few weeks ago. Not sure if all this is anxiety or more serious. Anyone else?

H Cheeterty,

If you have had all of the cardio related tests, and the breathing test, then I would have to guess that it is all anxiety related...what did your doctor say, did he/she schedule anything else?

You mentioned refux. Is it possible asthma due to GERD? Perhaps posting in that forum with your question might be a good idea.

In the meantime, what results have you gotten from breathing exercises? Have you tried any, and are they working at all?

I am sorry that you are experiencing this, it is miserable and scary to feel out of breath for no apparent reason. I used to have trouble with this due to anxiety. If you would like my favorite breathing exercise (if I haven't already posted it for you) just let me know....it really worked for me.

Take care,

S.C.

Good Morning Cheeterky,

Could  your problem be anxiety - yes but SC made a good point for GERD as a possible cause for your symptoms.  Many of our members in GERD experience breathing problems - may I suggest you post in the GERD forum as the members there know this disorder extremely well.

Here is the link to our GERD/Heartburn forum:

Cheet, I would say a combination of gerd and anxiety will definately cause your breathing problems, I have them both and some mild asthma, and this problem has been sending me to the E.R constantly, i'm actually getting embaressed, but it is a scary feeling so i guess it's just natural to get all panicky and start freaking out, but I have also been trying to practice deep breathing excercises, but i guess i can't quite get the hang of how to do it good yet, i try to take a slow breath through my nose for about 2 seconds and let out a long slow breath for about 4 seconds, while just trying to keep my belly raising up and not my chest ( they say this is a more natural way to breathe ) There are many deep breathing exercises i watch on youtube, Take care and hope everything turns out great for you.

I've had this same thing before, and had every heart test done as well, nobody could give me a straight answer to the cause, I found my own cure for it, I got off all msg, soy and artificial sweeteners and that helped, took a week or so to get the full results but NOW I do NOT have any breathing problems or shortness of breath feeling anymore what so ever, and now I've also decided to do a gluten free diet to see how I felt with that, I'm not as sleepy and don't have as much brain fog, overall feel like myself again, and any stress level that I did have has vanished, I feel great!

I had been a bit worried about my health, always worrying that I have some new disease or rare disease, cancer etc. but, I hope this info helps you and maybe you can try a new diet to help you feel better and be symptom free.
