Welcome to HealingWell. Anxiety and stress definitely can cause pain or exacerbate ongoing pain issues.
Do not let your anxiety control your feelings and practice kicking the "what if?" thoughts to the curb - you do not need them.
Sometimes when we work in the field of medicine we know too much and start projecting the worse case scenario onto ourselves. Remember we also know many things cause pain and bursitis in one of them so trust that you are treating bursitis and keep on taking the Aleve if it is helping you.
Please remember I am not a Dr. and these are simply my own thoughts.
Wishing you the best.
