I have been going to the Drs. since I was 18 years old alone and my hubby does not like to come and sit in waiting rooms in hospitals and clinics. So I went alone for my abdominal CT scan on 8/10/2012. When I was told my PCP wanted me to come over to her office as she had the CT results I assumed all was normal and we would just talk about keeping an eye on things...................I had no anxiety at all so I never saw the bad news coming.
This is the rare exception. For 49 years, and raising 4 children I never ran into a serious problem and bang - shot down. However, I went out to the car and got my hubby who came into the clinic. We were both scared as the news kept getting more serious but here we are over a year later and life is still good. Yes things have changed but we still love each other, our children and grandchildren are healthy.
When my Dr. gave me the news she did not think I was dying and I don't think I am dying now......................I handle one new problem at a time and do my best not to let this terrible Cancer keep me from enjoying my life.
You are going to be fine..........perhaps you will have a kidney stone but that can be taken care of.
It is OK to be scared when you are scheduled for big tests and remember the test are not tough and a CT Scan of the Abdomen goes quickly so wait and see how everything turns out and talk about your fears with us and with your husband. There is no shame in being afraid.
Sending you tons of love and support. We are here for you.
