Good Morning and Happy New Year. Your goal for 2014 is a good one and like most of us goals are great but nearly all of us have a lapse and then we feel bad about ourselves.
"Always, we begin again," St. Benedict famously said.
One thing that may help is substituting something else for the spending. Get passionate about something new. Remember it takes time to break a habit or make a change. The old saying was it take 21 days to change a habit, however new statistics now quotes - 66 days. I think this is unique to each person.
I will share with you that I have made spending a habit since I learned I had cancer and would need to be on chemo for life. I am now trying to cut back and it is not easy once you get into the habit and it has become a coping mechanism.
