As I've said here, I've recently been put on Prozac 60mg along with gabapentin and buspar. I was fairly certain that I would need to ask to go up to the max dose of 80mg of prozac when I go back to my NP on July 29. However, for the past number of days, I've been doing fairly well it would seem! I'm almost afraid to believe it myself for fear that it will disappear like a pleasant dream!
My Mom is supposed to go to the doctor tomorrow and I'm not even getting all up in arms over that! When I think about the changes that are coming next year with the change in our income (going DOWN!), I just basically shrug my shoulders and say that worrying about it will not change anything, to cross that bridge when I get there.
I am very happy that I am not getting freaked out! I guess I'm like a child with a new toy and afraid that someone is going to come and take it away from me and not give it back! This is a new feeling for me after such a very long time!
Part of me says to go ahead and ask for a higher dose anyway to brace up this feeling, but another side of me says to leave it alone and only ask for a higher dose if I start to slip.
I suppose I sound rather silly in some ways....it's just that I've been living such an opposite life for so very long. I still have normal worries like anyone does and sure, I am afraid of faltering. But for this moment, I'm doing better than I have in a long time.
any advice would be most welcomed as I know many here have and are walking in my shoes!

I say stay where you are it might just be the perfect dose! And congrats to you for doing so well. I keep telling everyone on here there is happiness after anxiety. You may have a setback now and then but it's ok! I'm so happy for you

Hi janetlee,

I'm so glad that you are doing so well right now. That's great news. Usually the doctor increases our dosage when we're still not feeling any relief from our meds. I think if you're doing so well right now, you should keep things at your current dosage.

I'm really happy for you, I hope things continue to go well for you!

jL,

Hello my friend and thank you for the mail.  As far as feeling good - accept it as a gift from above; a well deserved gift and it is about time.  You can hold on your med dose and know it is avail if things start to change or you can try to get ahead of the game and take the larger dose.

Do discuss this with your NP but remember you are the one that gets to say yes or no.

Love you special lady.

Thanks everyone, especially you, my sweet Kitt!
I will definitely talk to my NP and see what she says! :)

I'm also thinking,.....ride the wave! It may have just needed time to become this effective for you.

I've learned to trust in that saying about: If ain't broke, don't fix it! :)
