I like to know if anyone meditates and if so, when and for how long? Also, what type of meditation?
I have been meditating on or off for about 7 months since my anxiety got into high gear. I feel like it does calm me and research shows that in the long run, it actually changes the brain chemistry to calmness. I am not sure if I am seeing that benefit, hence I take medication and do therapy etc...
I try to meditate for 15 minutes everyday, mostly at night. If my anxiety is bad, I can not do it. It is hard to sit still and mediate.
I recently watched a documentary on Netflex called "Free the Mind". It is about PTSD and shows that in 7 days, 3 hours of Yoga and meditation, they have seen as much improvement as 40%. Has anyone seen that kind of improvement on their anxiety from meditation?
