I am sorry to hear of the recent challenges you are going through with health and anxiety issues. We have to urge you to follow your doctor's advice for treating your hypertension, as this is something that needs to be medically addressed for cardio health...
However, as far as anxiety management, you may want to try some of these great coping skills from our Resources before making a final decision on taking an Rx for anxiety. Practicing these daily may be just what you need for your treatment...so give them a chance, and see how you do.
Therapy is another options that you should consider for long term anxiety management. This has proven to be sufficient for some (myself included) to help them overcome the worst of their anxiety symptoms.
