Can you pinpoint what it is that is triggering the anxiety about
the weekly meeting?
Is it the unfamiliar
Could it have to do with eating a meal while trying to run the business aspect of the meeting? (some people don't like being 'watched' as they eat.)
Is this the owner's/GM's decision, and could you maybe make some suggestions about
Perhaps have a bi-monthly, or even once a month outing would be more reasonable.
You could suggest that you have a more productive (probably true!) meeting in house.
Then you will have to just make it through a couple of difficult 'field trips' rather than doing it every week.
I do agree that this will become less uncomfortable for you as you get used to it...so hang in there, and know that you can get through this...even if it puts your coping skills to the test!
p.s. Who is paying the bill for eveyone's dinner? Surely you are not expected to cover it yourself? If so...simply saying you can't afford to go out weekly should take care of things! If the restaurant is footing the bill...this idea may fizzle out of sheer expense!
