I still lurk around every now & then & saw your post.
I'm so humbled and happy for you. I wish that I had dug as deep as you did at your young age. In the early 90's, I didn't have the Internet so no support like forums such as HW & depression & anxiety were less talked about
then. I would love to give you a hug! I'm proud of you like you were my baby sister
I'm 44 & while most of my life was anxiety/depression free, this past year has been a ride to say the least. No more distracting from vulnerability. No more putting out fires (anxiety/depression) with gasoline! Distracting from it will hide it for awhile but unless you come to "peace" with it, breaking old habits of fearing it (the anxiety trick!), healing is just that much harder & prolonged.
Thank you for the updates & sharing what you've learned. There is always hope & healing if one is willing to truly dig deep.
Medication & therapy have their place for sure but as someone who's done both, I can't say enough about
therapy being absolutely imperative whether you use medication or not.
Sending peace & hope to all!!!
