Hi SK and welcome.
It is easy to see how the death in a friend's family could be a trigger. It is close to home, and naturally starts the 'what if' questions forming in the mind.
I am surmising from your post that you have had anxiety previous to this...but that this has really exacerbated the worries?
Have you tried any treatment methods previously for anxiety management?
Medication and or therapy are usually the go to choices. If you've not looked into these possibilities, I do recommend talking to your doctor about
them, and at least consider your choices.
Self help is also a great management tool...and one, in my opinion, everyone should use!
At the top of the main forum page here, you will find our Resources. ..filled with great self help material that is really beneficial if practiced regularly.
I think you would find the Health Anxiety links especially helpful. Let me know if you have trouble finding them, and I'll post them directly for you.
Keep posting with us as well. We understand, care and support is key!
