I think it might help me on a prn basis and I’m going to try it. If I heard my doc correctly, I believe she said I can use it that way. She told me this after she’d rx’d It for me for sustained use and I couldn’t tolerate it. Here’s what happened: I started with 5mg. 2x/day. The first few days (2-4 days) I felt good, more energetic and motivated. I accomplished some things I’d been putting off. Then....insomnia started and got worse. During my waking hours, I was starting to feel driven and almost compulsive. After about 9-10 days, I knew I couldn’t sustain such usage and began tapering it down and off within a week. So much for needing a built-up blood level. So what I’m thinking could work is just using it 1-2 days when I’m feeling anxious or worried, probably 5mg per dose. It was at that dose previously that I felt good. This is my working theory at this point. I know that’s a low dose, but I’m 74 yrs old and may do best on a low dose. Will let you know how it goes. Thoughts?
