I was wondering, how are everyone's eating habits? And how bad really can eating only 1 meal a day be? It's all I have as I have absolutely no interest in eating, I usually will only feel hungry enough to actually eat that 1 meal and if it's not hunger that makes me eat it it's because I don't want my dog which is a 9 month old husky to have a much shorter walk just coz I get lightheaded and shaky coz I didn't feel like eating again. I have hardly ever eaten veg, most of it is because I don't like the feel of a lot of veg in my mouth and it's not necessarily the taste. Now that I am older and supposedly wiser I have began tricking myself into eating veg with that 1 meal, which usually consists of chopping it so finely that I never even know it's in my mouth coz I can't feel it. I assume eating once a day would affect toilet habits? I usually get 1 time every week or 2, unless I have to travel then it's 3 or 4 times an hour..... Hmmm

W.H.

Have you considered trying meal replacement shakes and /or smoothies to help supplement your calories and nutrients?

Fruit/vegetable yogurt smoothies (blending carrots and spinach along with fruit and Greek yogurt...you'll never know the veggies are there!) would be ideal for nutrition and regularity. ..

...but the Boost or Ensure drinks would also be a good choice.

You could sip on them throughout the day....they go down easy, and you wouldn't get the low blood sugar effects you describe!

Peace and progress,

S.C.

Hi

IMO diet is really important and can make a big difference on a whole host of things.

Depression can affect your appetite so how's your mood?

Hi

I have never had a big appetite and before I had anxiety/depression I usually only ate one meal a day.

My anti-depressants don't help my eating either, that is why I am taking 2 protein shakes a day along with Vit C and Omega 3.

My appetite is coming back slowly now and I try and eat little often, not with much success at the moment but I am hoping that will improve.

If you google for healthy snacks there are lots of ideas and plenty of other foods, apart from veg, that can boost your energy etc.

Take care,
Tracey

I have a terrible appetite atm too WH... was concerned until my doc today who said she would just like to monitor my weight and make sure it doesn't drop too much, although its a side effect of meds (escitalopram) she still increased my dose.
Are you taking a med?

Maybe chat to your doc, keep up your water in take too!

Look forward to your update :)
