saw my new quack today, she seemed nice and understanding. she ordered pharmacogenomic testing from a company called genesight, but in the meantime is upping my sertraline/zoloft from 100 to 200mg since i tolerate it and no use trying something new until we get the genetic stuff back. im goint to taper 150 for a week then hit 200 anyone have good results with higher doses of zoloft for ocd type thoughts? she said we could go as high as 300mg.

Oh wow, you and I sound exactly alike. I just recently had that same genetic testing done, and also am working up on the Zoloft dosage. Currently I am taking 175mg on my way to 200mg.....and then most likely 300mg max. I just went to the psych doctor this week. I started only on 25mg of Zoloft to get adjusted to it.

So far I have zero improvement. Very frustrating. This OCD and anxiety completely and totally rule my life, and I need some relief, but nothing helps as of yet. I'm beyond thinking I will ever get over this horrible disorder.

R.,

No experience to share/relate to...

...but wanted to wish you the best with your increase!

GeneSight and the testing/matches they provide are really beneficial from what I have researched and heard.

Keep us posted, so we can keep you in support!

Lha-
we will learn to live again. be kind to yourself and believe in the process and progress you have made. if there is absolutely nothing you can think of, be proud of the fact that you are alive and breathing today. you made it through yesterday, the past week, month and years. it was not easy, but it did not kill you like it so often feels like it would. you are strong, and brave to face each day, and don't give up hope, it will get better.

Hi

The best medication I have taken for my OCD is Prozac 60mg.

Keep us posted.

Hibee
I try not to worry about the future -- so I take each day just one anxiety attack at a time.

Yes, everything you say is what I should be telling myself, but I keep bringing the negative thoughts back over & over again even after trying to repeat positive words to myself.

This weekend is especially bad as I have two of my sons traveling, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get my mind off the OCD thoughts about germs, accidents, etc., etc.

I shall survive, but will be in a state of panic all week most likely.
