I'm sorry. It's a difficult process to admit what you have, but it's a sign you are on your way to better mental health. Your right, medications will not heal the pain but you have the ability to heal your pain and life with the help of your Therapist. Therapy can help you process what has been done to you and allow you to move forward. Please don't stop Therapy, over time you will see the benefit of having a good Therapist for the difficult journey you are on.
I walked away from family over 12 years ago. Although a difficult decision I have been show, even recently, I made the right decision. It was a difficult decision with many tears and I realized during this time that I was going through a grieving process. My Therapist agreed with, and supported my decision, as had a cousin I am still close to.
