I really thought my anxiety was under control but it seems to be back. It's always some form of health related anxiety. I've been having this cough for two weeks that won't go away, saw my doctor wheb it started, he gave me antibiotics, steroids and cough suppressant pills, after reading the side effects I wouldn't take any of them. Saw an ENT doctor today and pretty much begged him to give me a different type of antibiotic for my condition. Took one after dinner but still scared. Why is my brain wired this way? Why can't I just stop thinking these negative thoughts? It's exhausting.
Oh and my blood pressure was high at the visit so of course now I'm worried about that.

AG,

I am sorry you are not feeling well. sad I know that this can be so triggering...making the anxiety worse than it already is!

However, you must take the medication that you have been prescribed in order to get better. I know that taking a new med is scary...

...but it is not as scary as getting a secondary infection! The irony of this being that you will need more and stronger meds if your condition develops into something like bronchitis or worse.

So don't read about the possible s/e's...and just take those meds, so you can get better. smile

Good job on getting started tonight! You are going to start feeling better in a day or so...and be fine as long as you finish the whole course of abx. (don't stop just because you start feeling better)

My BP always is up when I go to the doctor too...white coat syndrome. I am sure it dropped right back to normal once your appointment was over! smile

Get better soon. You are going to be okay!
