Anyone else feel that their anxiety symptoms make their hypochondria 100x worse??? I get dizziness and brain fog from my anxiety and then my anxiety makes me believe I'm dying

I should expand this by saying for example, when I get a headache with a strange sensation I start to panic about a brain aneurysm or when my leg hurts I feel like I have a blood clot or when my chest hurts I feel like I'm having a heart attack. Everyone else my age is anxious about school and other normal things and I'm just nervous about dying

Yes, the anxiety=symptoms =more anxiety=worsening symptoms cycle is tough.

If you are struggling with health anxiety issues currently, we have some good self help links and books recommendations specifically for this issue, in our Resources.

Sounds like you are dealing with health anxiety which can be difficult to deal with if left untreated.

Have a look at our resources post for some good links and I would suggest you speak with your doctor and ask them about a referral to see a therapist.

Keep us posted we are here for you.

I try not to worry about the future -- so I take each day just one anxiety attack at a time.

I understand how you feel completely. Stay away from google and use the self-help links referenced by SC. Health anxiety like all anxiety/panic issues sucks.

Yes, in the past four months I have had an MRI, two CT scans, 3 EKGs and a holter monitor that I wore for a month. I have seen a neurologist, cardiologist, and been to the emergency room twice. Final diagnosis.....anxiety....which sometimes I still find hard to believe. I've always been a worrier, not necessarily always about my health but it definitely sucks because it's like a never ending cycle. Like scaredycat illustrated, the anxiety feeds your symptoms which then creates more anxiety, which then leads to more symptoms, st least that is what happened with me.....I hope you find some relief.....
