Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing fine.I am not eating anything most of the day just drink 2 cups of water and that's it .Is it that my anxiety is worst or am bulimic (eating disorder)?

I do not feel too hungry but when i eat i try to eat very less also because gain weight quickly too.

So had a bad day and headaches because of switching sugars.

How do you manage your diet on being anxious.

I have so many problems and now one more added.Oh gosh>..

Hi Cilly

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment.

Anxiety can affect your appetite but I don't think you are bulimic as my understanding of that is that you make yourself sick after you have eat some food.

It is important that you have at least 1500 calories a day to help you function.

I have to watch what I eat as I am taking medication which makes you put on a lot of wight so I use My Fitness Pal which is an app you can download on your phone and keeps track of your exercise and calorie intake.

Keep us posted we are here for you.

I try not to worry about the future -- so I take each day just one anxiety attack at a time.

I am sorry you are struggling to eat at the moment. :/ This does concern me!

The difference between anorexia as an anxiety symptom vs. an eating disorder is the mindset.

Are you not able to eat because you are stressed and simply not hungry? (or food makes you feel ill when you do eat?)

Or, are you restricting because you are trying to lose/control your weight due to a distorted body image? (feeling you are overweight when in fact you are not?)

Either way, you want to get help! Whether with anxiety management, or even specifically for an eating disorder, if you feel you are suffering with this issue.

There are free support groups for the latter if you check your local hospitals...I encourage you to do so if this is applicable and available for you.

Sending encouragement and strength are stronger than you realize...get the help you need to eat and feel your best again!
