Hi my name is Rich.

I have had bad anxiety every morning since Monday and I'm just sick of it.

I have a plan for today which is to go to a 12-step meeting at 11 am. I will also do some errands, including going to the library, which will be nice.

Hopefully getting out and doing something will help my mood. I'm sick of sitting around worrying, smoking cigarettes and not being able to take care of the things i need to take care of.

Thanks for listening. mad

I am sorry you are struggling atm. We do go through periods of challenges that can last days...and these are tough.

However, your proactive plan is excellent, and will surely help you to break out of the rut to good degree.

Do you think this current rough spot could be due to the many changes you have been experiencing lately? Even positive life transitions such as retirement can be enough to shake up our anxiety management status.

Know this will pass as you adjust...and try to be patient with yourself and the process.

I was experiencing extreme anxiety(to me) recently but I refused to let it take it's toll that like it did 8 years ago(when I did not even realize what anxiety was). I would call into work because for me getting out of bed and putting my uniform was the hardiest thing. Once I was up and moving, I wasn't fine but much better. This time I tried to stay in my routine as much as possible no matter how hard. I called into work sick one day because I was having some bad Zoloft startup side effects, I felt horrible after doing that because it won. So for two straight months, I would put my uniform on and head at the door. I have no coping skills, but I do know one thing, if you let it win once, it gets easier to let it win. Thanks, Tim

Sorry to hear you have had a tough few days but well one on making a plan to get out and about that will help your situation.

Have you ever tried Mindfulness Meditation? It works wonders on anxiety and you will find loads of guided medications on youtube and we have some links in our resources.

Keep us posted.

I try not to worry about the future -- so I take each day just one anxiety attack at a time.
