I started sertaline 5 weeks ago. Last Sat night I experienced a jumping nerve under my eye for a few mins then it disappeared. Then Monday past I woke up to a twitching nerve in my lower left cheek. I rang doctor he advised me to stop sertaline as it was a side effect. I stopped immediately I was only on 50mg. I've been experiencing facial twitching ever since, numbness and tingling. I'm so worried that this will be permanent and won't ever go away. It's horrible. Anyone had similar experience?

L.,

I get jumping/twitching muscles and I don't take meds...I.simply attribute them to anxiety.

I have had them in my face, chest, arms and legs...so annoying!

I am sure this will not be a permanent issue, and with some Progressive Muscle Relaxation practice, it will phase out soon. (let me know if you need instructions)

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Yes I get this annoying symptom and always put it down to anxiety but it never lasts long so I'm sure yours will stop over the next couple of days if it continues go and speak with your doctor.

Hibee
I try not to worry about the future -- so I take each day just one anxiety attack at a time.
