Hello all!

I'm new to the forum. I needed a place to vent and maybe a little reassurance.

2 years ago I started having these awful headaches. I would get dizzy and horrible vertigo and just made me feel terrible. I made an appointment with a neurologist but it was 5 months out. One day it got so bad I went into the ER and demanded them do an MRI. They did and everything came out normal. In the meantime while waiting for my neuro appt, I made an appointment with my ent, eye dr, a headache specialist. You name it, I tried it. After about 3 months they just went away and I didn't have them anymore. I stupidly cancelled my appointment.
Fast forward to now. I do have debilitating anxiety. I tried going on Lexapro last year but it actually made my anxiety worse so after being on it a few months I weaned off it. I still had anxiety but started seeing a therapist. It's still bad. We had a lot of work to do.
But now my headaches are back. And some of the other weird symptoms I'm getting is like a hot spot on my head where I feel like it's on fire. My nose is twitching. And sometimes my face goes numb mainly around my nose and mouth. I've explained this to a dr recently and they're just telling me it's my anxiety. Can all these symptoms seriously be anxiety?

I have a physical with my Primary care doctor on Wednesday so I'll be able to talk to a dr I trust more then but wanted to reach out to you all

Hello and welcome!

I am sorry to hear that you have been through all of this worry with physical symptoms. I know how confusing and scary this can be.

Anxiety can have a pretty unbelievable array of sensations that affect our bodies...causing symptoms that run the spectrum from downright debilitating for some.

Your doctor will be able to tell you more at your it is good that you have that set up, as it is always a first good step.

You will also be able to talk to him/her about your anxiety treatment options then as well.

For now, please see our Resources at the top of the main forum page here for great self help material that you can get started with right away for relief. Practicing the suggested exercises will make a difference!

Keep posting with us as well if you find it helpful. We understand, care and support is key!
