I have some very strange symptoms and I wonder if it could be anxiety related. I have a diagnosed infection as well so sometimes it is tough to tell which is which. As far as anxiety, I do suffer from panic attacks at times, but that has been a few months since the last one. I have a General Anxiety Disorder diagnosis. I have taken various medications and currently on Wellbutrin and Xanax as needed. I have a hard time relaxing just in general. I seem to have a lot of chest tightness especially on my left side and upper left arm. Had a stress test and all was fine. I think I have just a lot of anxiety induced mannerisms as well as obsessive thoughts at times. I seem to be always playing with my ring and/or rubbing my goatee. I pray a lot and sometimes obsessively. Nothing that gets in the way of my daily life, but can be intrusive at times. So, I would say manageable but something I need to be aware of and working on. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Hello and welcome!

I am glad you have found us...though sorry to hear of your on going challenges. We understand how the daily struggle feels.

A couple of things came to mind when reading your post.

One, how long have you been on your Wellbutrin? This Rx can take time to build up in the system, and the start up process, can make management tough. Usually within a few weeks the therapeutic effects will be hang in there and use coping skills (and your rescue med) to help you through.

Are you taking an antibiotic for your infection? Sometimes an abx can exacerbate anxiety. This is temporary, so stay your course, and know it will phase out.

Finally, are you currently doing therapy work or self help? I always recommend this for the best well rounded program! We have great Resources at the top of the main forum page be sure to take advantage of them! And talk to your doctor regarding a therapy referral if you've not done so already

Again, welcome...and post with us anytime for sharing and support!

Hi and welcome,

I have General Anxiety Disorder and panic disorder. I also think that for the most part I function well and most people can't tell I am so anxious. But I really do not socialize much and I work from home.

I also have a lot of discomfort in my chest, especially the left side and it goes to my back and shoulder. I also get weird pains in different places. My doctor did EKGs and CT Scan and it was fine. So, I guess it is the anxiety causing all this muscle tension and weird pains.

I hope your meds work and you fell more relaxed soon.
