I have the anxiety condition for awhile already. I am taking medication for it though it only helps me a little though. I seem to not have any confidence in myself to do things I want to. Can anyone tell me how I can get more confidence in myself with this condition. Any advice would be cool. Thanks.

I think it would help to see a therapist. Your medication may also need to be increased. I'm going through the same thing right now.

AG,

Have you talked to your health care advocate about the possibility of joining a group for people going through similar struggles? What you describe is not at all unusual...and talking with others who understand will help you to feel not so alone...and also pick up new skills to work through the challenges you face.

There are also great books on help for social anxiety that I can recommend if you are interested. smile

AG,

I undertstand. I can be uncomfortable to talk with someone that you don't know...but it can also be a very free and healing experience once you get through the initial fear. Afterall, you can open up to someone that is there as a professional, and someone whose job it is to only help and never judge.

A lot of people have initial anxiety about talking with a therapist/counselor, but find that they are soon looking forward to their appointments!

Still, if that experience just sounds like too much, then maybe joining a group for anxiety discussion could help. You need not talk unless you want to...and just listening to other's stories and ideas for what they do for help would be beneficial.

Stay hopeful, you are finding ways to help yourself and make progress each time you reach out. smile
