Hi Zeb and welcome!
I am sorry to hear about
all your mom is dealing with both mentally and physically. It is not unusual to have anxiety and/or depression as a result of health issues.
Straydog has advised you well...and I second the idea of accompanying her to her appointments if possible. Another alternative is to ask for a consult with a psychiatrist. This MD has a vast knowledge of psychotropics and how they will interact with other Rx's and health conditions.
Self help is another great tool to help her manage the emotional impact of her situation. Here is the link to our Resources. You can pass it along to her...or perhaps even learn a couple of relaxation techniques to teach and do with her?/www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=9&m=104206
Wishing you both the best in health and wellness...and feel free to post with us anytime for support!
