It's been a while since I have posted on here. I was doing really well for a while.
I had a pulmonary function test, stress test, and endoscopy done July 2017 due to chest heaviness on and off for a month. Stress test and pft were good results.

I'm now dealing with the heaviness again and its causing my anxiety to be even worse.. my anxiety came back full force a week and a half before this heaviness after MONTHS of having no anxiety or panic attacks. I've been so stressed out, I just don't know what to do anymore. 😔
My acid reflux has been so so bad so I'm assuming it's my barretts esophagus yet again causing the heaviness..

I have no medical insurance as I moved out of state in October so it's hard..

Hi

Welcome back but sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment.

Sounds like you are dealing with health anxiety I would suggest to make an appointment to see your doctor and explain your symptoms to them and see what they suggest. If anxiety is the cause lots can be done to help and your doctor will be able to advice on this.

In the meantime have a look at our resources section for some good links to self help sites on the web.

Keep us posted.

Hi M.,

I am so sorry to hear that your symptoms/anxiety have returned! I know how disappointing this feels. However, the good news is that since you had a reprieve from your anxiety previously...you can hope to get back to that good place of management once again. smile

I echo what Hibee has suggested. Try to find a low cost clinic to be seen...to get your GERD treatment plan where it needs to be...

...and practice self help coping skills daily, to manage the anxiety.

Keep us posted, so we can keep you in support!

Thanks. I will have to Google for local places since I know nothing here. My mother in law mentioned her doctors but my husband just started work so we're low on funds. Seeing anyone will be incredibly hard. I'm taking omeprazole and my anxiety medication as prescribed until I can see someone which unfortunately probably won't be until next month.

Good plan...

...that should get you through till the new year...a month isn't that long...and I am glad to hear that you have some remaining Rx.

Your coping skills/lifestyle changes should cover the rest until you can get in. smile

I got in to see a doctor, but not until January 23rd. I've been told to call every day to see if they have cancellations before then. I may see if I can try some new medication for my anxiety if it isn't better before then. I was taken off mine right before moving due to my anxiety being nonexistent for a very long time.

M.,

Great job on making the appointment! Calling in everyday will hopefully get you in sooner than your set date, so do be the squeaky wheel so to speak!

And for now, use your coping skills daily, and keep posting with us so we can keep you encouraged. smile

Talk soon,
