Exercise is without a doubt a power tool, and one that I can personally testify about
I have been tempted at times to cancel my classes on really challenging days, but never actually have...
...and I can't think of a time when I haven't felt better after being physically active! (I teach dance and move the entire time my students do!)
This is not to say that exercise is the end all be all cure...there are still going to be some that need the benefit of an Rx, because everyone's situation is unique.
However, it is a great place to start, along with other self help mechanisms!
