I feel this lump in my left breast it’s like a ball that moves around that isn’t present in my right breast. I’m sooooooo scared, I feel the constant need to throw up.. it’s big too! I had a breast MRI 5 months ago and it was negative...but this lump wasn’t there at the time.

Please help me im so upset it’s Friday, I have to wait the entire weekend, I feel I’m

You will be okay. I've had so many health scares that happened on weekends. God will help you—a lot of times when I get really nervous about my health or something, if I trust God and wait a while and don't try to do something to make my anxiety "go away," it usually turns out better than if I had done what I wanted to solve the problem right away.

Even it is something cancerous (it's probably not likely), waiting the whole weekend wouldn't make it any worse.

LMD,

Cysts are really common, can pop us suddenly and be large, and moveable (not fixed). BC is the opposite on all counts.

I have cystic breast 'disease' and have lumps that come and go. They can appear suddenly and then just disappear.

Try not to let the catastrophic thinking get a hold of you. Use your positive mantras and other coping skills to get you through until you can see your doctor. You have had similar worries about health issues in the past, that have turned out to be nothing. This is going to be the same I am sure.

Let us know how you are doing soon,

S.C.

Scaredy, you get lumps that appear and disappear like the ones I described? When you get one you never get it checked out?

Luvs, SC is right about how cysts can happen. There was a young woman that worked at our office that had cysts. Hers would come up over night, no warning. She had plenty of testing & they were benign. What her dr did tell her was to avoid all caffeine & chocolates. When she did this, yes they would still reappear, but it slowed down the progression a great deal.

If you are considering going to ER over the weekend, keep in mind ER's are not there to diagnose & treat unless it's a true life threatening situation. I am not saying not to go, but be prepared for the usual anxiety speech & told to follow up with your own dr.

Yes cysts can be hard and round. I have fibrocystic breasts too. Dense tissue and get lumps and bumps all the time. They do come and go.

When is your next doctor appointment? You can call on Monday and have it looked at. Until then, I wouldn't worry too much. I hope it is nothing to worry about.

In the meantime, hang in there.

Hugs, Karen...

LuvMyDAD, I am not going to tell you not to worry, I would be doing the same. In fact, when I do my self breast exams, I never do them on the weekend, so that if I find something, I don't have to wait to call my doctor. I used to do ultrasounds, including breast ultrasounds and you have some good things that you should keep in mind. First, as scaredy said, a movable lump is a good sign. Second, having a negative mri just 5 months ago is also good sign. It would be unusual for a cancerous lump to grow large that quickly, whereas it isn't unusual for cysts. Third, cysts come and go with changes in estrogen. Try and keep the positives in mind.

LMD, to answer your question...

Yes, the first lump I found, I went in and had my OBGYN check it out. He felt it and was sure that it was just a fibroid, but sent me for a mammogram just to be safe and obtain a baseline for me.

I had a large, rubbery/hard round cyst that turned out to be 100 percent benign. I have had them come and go since and they no longer alarm me. ;)
