Hello friends! It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted. Just wanted to provide an update on my lex journey for the fifth time being on it in my life on 5mg. It’s been a roller coaster for sure.
When I started the med I felt immediate relief within the first few days. It was great. Then around week 2 anxiety returned due to my menstrual cycle and hormones. Once that was done I went back to feeling good.
Now it’s week 8 and I’ve been feeling so emotional and anxious all week, but I am also going through some marital problems that triggered it all. Things within my marriage are starting to settle down so I’m praying to god I go back to the anxiety free days. I would really hate to possibly up my dose

Roxy, it would be good if you didn't have to up your dosage of the Lexapro. However, if you have to, than you have to.

I agree, going to 10 mg wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but make sure it isn't pms or anything like that. Like you said things have been stressful too and it may take awhile to feel better. We don't always automatically bounce back with our mental health. But you should soon.
Talk to your doc or therapist if you don't start feeling better soon. But if you had to go to a higher milligram it wouldn't be the end of the world. It would help you feel better most likely.
Best wishes,
Hugs, Karen...

Hi
Thanks for the update I agree with the above that if you have to increase your dose to 10mg then that's not a bad thing in-fact my pdoc told me when I was on it that 10mg was the target therapeutic dose for anxiety.
Hopefully things will settle down for you soon.
Keep us posted.

R.,
Interpersonal conflicts are a huge anxiety trigger for me, so this likely could be a situational challenge that will pass as you find resolution with your spouse.
Practice your coping skills and see how you feel once things are more peaceful in your world.
Wishing you the best with feeling better and working things out.
