Do you have an important decision that you have to make in the near future?

When I have a decision to make about whether I should or shouldn't do something, I often write down my ideas on paper. I'll write down the pros and cons of doing something.

For example, if I have a decision to make about getting a new apartment, I'll write down the pros of getting a new apartment, as well as the cons of getting a new apartment.

The two reasons I like to write down the pros and cons on paper are because, for one, if I come up with an idea, I won't forget it if I have it written down. And two, I find that I sometimes come up with ideas that I otherwise wouldn't have thought of if I hadn't written them down.

So if you have a decision to make, maybe writing the pros and cons down on paper before finally making the decision like I often do could really help you like it can with me.

Hi

I have important decisions to make every day but due to my OCD it can take me hours to make a decision and then I often end up changing it last minute lol.

Thanks MMB...good stuff.

I also find that if I talk or write something out, that thoughts/ideas/concepts flow seemingly out of nowhere that were not there before!

Thanks for all of your posts and insights. smile

Writing things out and doing pro/cons lists really helps me as well!

I tend to write everything down. I am a "lister". Not overly obsessed about it but I find it reminds me of things and keeps my brain in order. I get anxiety over big decisions.

Hugs, Karen...
