Thanks. I think I don't really have much pain from surgery anymore. That is cool though. Ya maybe I can ask the person I see about the anti depressant that don't really cause weight gain though. I have some anxiety since she wants me to increase the lexapro I take ya. I have anxiety that I may get some kind of side effect from taking more of it. Do you think increasing the dose of an anti depressant can cause some kind of side effect. Thanks for the advice about diabetes. I need to try to eat foods that will make me not get the diabetes condition. It will be a little hard though I will try ya.

Yes, I battle with that diabetes thing, also. I have it, part from not being careful with my diet. I also take medicine which could have some of the side effects we’ve talked about, such as increased appetite. However, not taking medicine we need can have side affects also, as we know from anxiety and in my case, bipolar. In one way, I’m glad she increased the Lexapro, which net says is an anti-depressant which also helps with anxiety.

So, that should help with your anxiety. We may know in a few weeks. It sounds like you have a good doctor, we can be glad about that. As for if the increased dosage of Lexapro will mean more side effects, that is a good question. It probably will, but there are things we can’t control. That may be why your good doctor was hesitant in increasing it. She must believe in Lexapro. So she must think the benefits outweigh the side effects. I know, we don't like the side affects sometimes.

You also said the pain from your surgery is about gone. We can be glad about that, too. So, your being positive seems to be paying off in several ways.

Are you still being positive and thinking you can solve a problem before going into it? What I do is, before going into a problem, I say to myself, “Think positive, think positive, think positive” so my unconscious mind will be set on positive and will be trying to solve the problem. I do this before I go into the problem. Are you having good success with trying to be positive?

Glad you liked the tips on lowering diabetes by eating less carbs and sugar (I eat no sugar) and that sort of thing. Laney G. on the Diabetes section of this website has a lot of data on that. I also had someone point out how much salt I was eating from canned foods. I should have been eating fresh, unprocessed food when possible and frozen food rather than canned.

Ya I think it may take a little while for the lexapro medication to work. I think I have less energy than usual though. I am not sure if its the side effect from the medication. I am kind of sad about that. I want to do have energy to do things ya. I am trying to be positive before helping a problem I have though. I think it kind of works ya. That's cool. Thanks. I am just kind of sad since I like to eat things that are not good for my gerd condition. Ya when I feel sad about something then I may try to eat more though. That's not good ya. What can I do to not do this. Can I have some advice for this. Thanks.

I find all of that is true, also.

I probably don't have the energy level I had before I started taking an anti-depressant. But I can handle less energy, but I probably couldn't handle as well being depressed.

Glad you have the will to do things. I don't have as many hours in the day to do things because for one, I sleep longer because my medicines slow me down and help me go to sleep at night. But then I don't wake up as quickly in the morning because of those same medicines. But I just have to be glad for the sleep.

Are you doing OK with your sleep? As I mentioned before, I take Melatonin from the health food or grocery store, or over the net. It helps me sleep and is not a doctor sleeping pill. Is your sleep OK?

Also, are you trying to reduce canned food, because of the high salt that it has in it, which is listed on the back of the can? I was told frozen food is better than canned food, and that fresh food is the best for you. They call fresh food unprocessed. Of course, at times, we might have to resort to those others, but I'm trying to go more for frozen or fresh food.

As noted, this website has a "Diabetes" forum where the moderator, Lanie G., gives a lot of good information. By reading the questions and replies, you can get a lot of help, including how to reduce the chances of getting diabetes.

Glad to hear you are "trying to be positive before helping a problem I have though. I think it kind of works ya. That's cool" Yeah, that works for me, too. Try to keep thinking that way, especially when things going tough.

Yes, I find myself wanting to eat things I shouldn't. That is very difficult for me.

Right, I think when we're not getting out and we are sad, we do tend to eat more. I can remember going through entire meals without eating a thing, I was so excited about talking to other people at the table. And when I worked, having quick, light lunches and it didn't bother me.

Now, I seem to be eating to make up for the lack of socialization. I use to get by on just the adrenaline from being around people. Also, the medicine increases my appetite. So it's a dual problem.

Along this line, the road I used to walk on is causing me problems. But I try to stay positive and think of ways I can exercise, different roads I can take, rather than just look at the one I can no longer walk on right now. It's an exercise of the mind, of staying positive.

Tonight, for instance, I took my trash can down front for pickup by the garbage truck. And then while I was out, I just walked repeatedly partway around my old street for my same 30 minutes of exercise.

Maybe, there is a hospital near you that has an exercise or gerd group, that walks once or twice a week. Can you look on the net for a nearby hospital that offers an exercise program.

Maybe look on the net for "Gerd health group for my home town".

Thanks. That is cool that you can get some sleep ya. I think I am able to sleep from the medication I take. It just that I have anxiety so I would get dreams that make me more anxious ya. I don't know what to do about that. I think I would be happy to have nice dreams instead. Ya I don't really eat canned food these days though. I am trying to eat less carbs though it is kind of hard since I like to eat it. I think that eating carbs can make me feel like having less energy though. That is not cool though. Ya I try read more about diabetes I think. I think it would be interesting to find a gerd group though. It would be nice to talk to other people who also have the gerd condition. These day I am kind of sad from having the anxiety condition. I like to be alone though. I think it isn't good to be alone ya. I don't know what to do about that. I just think when my medication works then I would be better ya. Thanks.

Sorry that you can’t get sleep without the bad dreams. Have you always had that with all of your medicines? I have bad dreams when the heat is up too high in my room, or my heating pad is up too high. So I know what bad dreams are. I hope you can find a solution to that.

How Is your increase in Lexapro anti-depressant now that you’ve been on that increase for what, about a week now? I like to be alone, also, but I do enjoy it when I’m able to get out for my daily walk and perhaps see some people. I’m very talkative when I get out and like it every much. I am also grateful when people stop by my place and we have a good talk. Sorry you are sad from your anxiety condition.
