Has anyone had any luck with using medical marijuana or CBD for panic disorder?

I find smoking helps me, but stay away from sativa, it can make you paranoid. Indica is better. Relaxes you more. I am just learning cbd. I make salve for pain and tincture. I tried the tincture for sleep last night and it worked. Much better than xanax for me. The salve is great for pain relief.

I hope that it works for you. I don't have bad panic disorder but I do have anxiety.

Hugs, Karen...

Hi.

I have tried CBD and found it to be very effective for anxiety, sleep and pain but here in the UK it’s very expensive so I can’t afford to take it all the time which is a shame.

Good morning.

In a perfect, addiction-free, world I'd feel almost like my pre-OCD/GAD self on low dose lorazepam. I just don't want to deal with long-term use and future discontinuation.

That said, I have just this week tried cannabis lozenges and MCT oil from a my medical marijuana dispensary. So far, the MCT oil (Kush based) has been pretty amazing. I started with the recommended low dosage, so a slight "high", but overall has made me feel happier, less anxious, and more positive. Next, will purchase an MCT oil which is about 75/25 CBD/THC. Might be the ticket as I hope it gives me the relief without the high. Will update in a few weeks when I try it. But right now the medical marijuana seems to be working for me.

Hibee, I hope you are able to get more cbd. It really helps a lot with pain, anxiety and sleep.

GuitarGERD, I am glad that the lozenges are working good for you. I make my own salve and tincture. I am experimenting with the tincture for sleep and it does help me. The salve helps with pain.

I hope you all have a good day, what is left of it anyway. Cold here and snowing. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer.

Hugs, Karen...

Thanks, Karen. Fantastic that you have found success with your homemade (wow, that's impressive!) products.

You are always so helpful to us on the site. Thanks for what you do.

Thanks GG...

I just have to mention that the sun finally came out. It hasn't been frequent lately. And it has been super windy. I guess that is typical for March. And we really did have a mild winter this year, so I really shouldn't complain at all.

Have a nice day...

Hugs, Karen...

I tried CBD oil hoping it would help with my anxiety and sleep. It has not helped. Benzodiazepines work great for me but I take them extremely rarely because I wa t to avoid dependence.

I’m interested in the 75CBD/25THC MCT oil. Seems like it would be a try. I don’t mind a slight high but I don’t want more than that. (Don’t want it to backfire and increase my anxiety).

Is there a particular brand you know of?

Thanks.

Good morning. Yeah, I share your concern for dependence on benzos and the THC causing more anxiety. The high CBD strain at my medical marijuana dispensary is BAOX 5:1 (CBD:THC). Depending on where you live, I'd call and ask those dispensaries/legal businesses in your area to see what high CBD/THC strains they offer.

Good luck finding what works for you. Cheers.

Med Ved,

Another thing you can try is learning meditation. It helps a lot with sleep.

Just thought I would suggest it.

Hugs, Karen...

PS I hope you find the CBD without much THC. I have found sativas can often make you anxious. Indica is much more relaxing.

Do these CBD/THC blends use indica or sativa? Or does it just depend which one you buy?

I have done some meditation. Even completed an MBSR class. But I have trouble keeping a disciplined practice.

Hi Medved,

Yes it depends on what you buy. I would ask the dispensary. If you get hemp cbd, you don't have to worry about sativa or indica. I don't think anyway.

When I do the sleeping meditation I sometimes relax all my muscles first. But generally I just repeat my mantra to my breathing. Two syllables in two syllables out, or one in and one out. It keeps me from thinking too much and I fall asleep much easier. I hope this helps.

Hugs, Karen...
