every morning i wake up and have this terrible nervous cough,then begin to dry heave.i guess its just knowing i have to go to work and deal with this panic yet another day.    ...any one else have this?

I don't get the cough....but they dry heaving is definetely something I understand.  Thats how I react to anxiety...I don't get the more common chest pain...instead I dry heave and throw up.  Makes me so much fun to go out with ;)...

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this...for the past year i have this constant cough that doctors told me was allergies yet the medications would not work, i really feel its becasue of anxiety some sort of "nervous cough"..anyone know how to cure this its making me nuts and since Iam on the phones all day its making me miserable at work!! Plase Help!!

dry heaves or dry retching on waking is common and probably from anxiety about having to face the new day

for the cough, try breathing deep and slow and squeezing your hand hard instead, then concentrate on the feelings as you relax the hand

recovered former longtime anxiety and panic attack sufferer and helper of other sufferers  but no training or  qualifications in medicine or psychology, any remarks that may be taken as advice must be confirmed with doctor or other health professional

My husband's Pain Mgmt doc was telling him he had a chronic cough that turned out to be caused by acid reflux. Go figure!!
