I have heart palputation with not sleeping. It doesnt happend often but, when they come its like no sleep. 
Last year i had apparently , had nervouse break down according to my doctor. One night just woke up and that was it for a few days no sleeping and anxiety level was awful. I was taking Ambien and something else iam not quit sure what it was but it was helping. Well, then I was slowly taking weenging myself off of the meds. I was feeling much better, anxiety challenges me but seemed to manage this yr.
Well, this past week I have started anxiety again which is alot of going to college and starting math algebra. I realize this. but, its like lost sleep last night and have heart palputation with it.
Its awful I realy don't want to go back to meds. I was hoping some input on this matter. but if I have to well then so be it. 
I would like to know if there are other people out there with simular problem; and if other people have the same kinda of symptoms what do they do for them to control them.
Endless sleepless night with heart palputation.

Hi there
have you tried breathing techniques or any relaxation techniques like soft music that you enjoy and just lay there thinking of a happy time or a tranquil place .......I find for me a Hot milk really helps to calm me at night add a wee touch of cinnamon to it for taste
It hads a natural ingredient when heated is activated
There is also a free online Cognitive behaviour Program I am doing and it is working great for me
MoodGyms can give that a shot as well
I also will lay and breath and count my heart beats and slowly they calm down unless I am really anxious
I think the breathing techniques would or should help give them a shot you have nothing to lose right
Post and let us know how you are doing
Total lack of sleep and not eating properly adds fuel to the existing A/P in my opinion

Hi KM, Welcome to hw. sorry you are having to deal with this, it is hard with the palps, they make it more scarey IMO.
I agree with lyn, try some breathing and relaxation techniques, there are many that help, and i do the same, i sit and try to relax and count the heart beats, and it does calm them at times. I have to take a beta blocker, (ziac) to ease mine, it helps and i know you dont want back on meds, i dont blame you......but sometimes it is better than the alternative. hope you feel better real soon and keep posting.

Two years ago I had a time with anxiety and depression. My anxiety was go bad I was sweating all day and having panic attacks. I couldn't sleep. I mean I had not slept in a month. Finally my doctor put me on symbyax, I know I sing its praises but it worked wonders for me. I can sleep I am not having problems with anxiety. It took about two days to help with anxiety. It does however make you hungry and will make you tired so take it a night. Hey if you have to take a pill to make you, you again so be it. I know how you feel though I had trouble at first admitting to myself that I needed a pill to make me me again. Hope things go well.

When I get like that, sometimes I can talk myself through them and sometimes it's not that easy. I also have a hard time sleeping some nights. last night for example. That's why you might notice my 1AM posts on these forums last night. Anyways, I listen to audiobooks with headphones on to help me sleep. Sometimes I think that there's no way I'll ever get to sleep and I hardly ever make it through the first 30 minutes of the book. Try that, might be worth a shot. Hope you're better soon.

Have you guys ever heard of Wayne Dyer? Lately I've been listening to his audiobooks. Some of his stuff is very interesting. Also, Deepak Chopra's relaxation and sleep stuff is also very good. If nothing else, they put me to sleep. LOL.

Welcome to the board this is a wonderful place and you will find alot of helpful ideas from wonderful people that understand what you are going through. I have to say when my anxiety is really high I have a hard time sleeping my mind starts racing with the what if's. I'm also in college and that in itself can be pretty stressful and I know it sometimes fuels my anxiety. When I can't seem to fall asleep sometimes I take hot shower or bath and that helps relax me or I listen to a relaxation C.D. and that generally puts me right to sleep. Hope that helps.

well,I want to thank you for your insight in this matter. It is doing much better now. But, I know it still a long struggle. Iam trying not to worry so much about school and go figure, Iam taking psych class this well its mainly the math i get concerned about.  I dont like worring over stuff all the time. I hate it. I used to never be this way until a couple of yrs ago. I think some of people problems today are what they dont want to face with from there past and they ingnore the singnals signs. One day "bam" hit ya and there is nothing you can do about it until you figure away to controle the anxiety.
You people are great i want to thank everyone for there input. thanks so much. I will keep in touch.
