I had a really horrible day yesterday and in the evening I had such a nasty panic attack, I havent had one that bad in quite a while so its really annoying! All day I felt so 'out of it', I had a headache around the front of my head and was so worried about just collapsing or blacking out! My head felt so heavy asthough there was a brick permantly on my head. The other concern was that I had weird head pains or aches in the back of my head, which I have had before but not for so long. Has anyone else suffered with those kind of pains and aches? This is what brought on my panic attack because I felt so horrible, I couldnt focus atall and felt so dizzy plus the aches in the back of my head. I have asked a doctor about the pains and they said its muscles spasming due to tense shoulders and neck but I just cant get the thought of a brain tumour out of my head. I am seriously starting to worry myself sick (literally) about having one due to these weird pains and feeling of just not being with it. The aches last for about 2 seconds but then go and they feel sort of warm and under my scalp.
Does anyone know what im going on about lol? confused
This is so horrible, especially after so long of starting to feel better. Why does anxiety/panic attacks do that??? I could have sworn I was going to die last night, or blackout!! Its crazy! sad

Yes I have to agree with your doctor, it does sound tension related. Even before I read that your doctor had told you that I was thinking you could use a chiropractic visit! Sorry to hear that you had such a horrible panic attack. Our brains do pick up on any physical discomfort and start the panic cycle...Fear or something being wrong with our body/adrenaline release/hyperventalation/panic attack/fear of panic and on and on it goes...I have had the exact same sensation that you describe. I am a dance teacher and really put my muscles through the paces! You could try the chiropractor, a massage, yoga or all or the above to get some relief from tension. Good luck!
p.s. You are not going mad and you do not have a brain tumor!!!!!!

I also have had these pains before and they scared the sh** out of me! That has been a while though, but I went to the doc and was told the same thing you were. Eventually they wnt away and that was about 4 yrs ago, I'm still doing ok. Hang in there. I know how crazy it makes you feel when the little voice in the back of your head won't allow you to just let go when you know deep down that your ok. It's a crazy cycle, thank God we have each other here at HW. Your gonna be just fine and your not the first person here that has asked the same exact question that you are, so I think its a pretty common side-effect of a/p. Hope you feel better soon.

I've had these too. Just the other day in fact. They are awful and always make me think something is wrong with me too.
I tend to think stroke instead of tumour though!
 LOL Choose your disease eh?
Since I've suffered with them on and off for years, I tend to think they're tension related. Try not to worry too much. :-)

Hey Mad - I really can't say much of anything different than what the others have said. I have experienced the same thing - and I do believe it is tension related as I get pain in my neck and shoulders. As any type of pain in my body causes me to panic (ie - about having a stroke/heart attack) it seems to just intensify the tension thus causing the headaches. So I think I just wanted to tell ya that You are not by yourself in this and to try not to worry. It helps me alot just knowing that I am not alone. So I wish you the best - hope you get to feeling better. Let us know! panic

I get headaches so often, I have had a headache for the last few days. It starts as soon as I wake up. When I bend down I get a kind of pumping feeling in my forehead. Then it seems to travel to the back of my eyes. Yesterday I was convinced that I had something terribly wrong. This morning the same thing happened but at the moment it has not travelled to my eyes.

These are tension Headaches
When you awake with one and it is continually there it is tension IMO
If you had a brain tumor hun Pain would not desist and go away it would have you in a coma eventually
The pain would be UNBEARABLE
My first hubby had one
Had a headache and could not move neck his Ear nose and throat doc said it was a migraine
Took my 2 yr old son in ( at time ) and my hubby was unconcious
Called ambulance and he was operated on by head of Neurolgy at London;s Victoria Hospital in 1976 by a Dr Girvin: he made a medical journal
He was not expected to live and he did he was a medical miracle ..........lost most use in right side as tumor was on left side where they operated................. but he made it
Then sadly he lost his life drinking and driving in 1979 on St.Paddy's day
Anyways relax I think it is headaches ands stress ones at that your muscles will really act up to with A/P so keep your head up it is not a BT I am sure
You can always go to doc and have tests done to rule it out but.........
Take care all
Have a great day
