Hi, it does sound like you are experiencing anxiety. Have you talked to your doctor about this? Have you tried a natural supplement called Melatonin or Valerian for sleep? I know that lots of people will come along and post a reply. I don't suffer from panic attacks but I know that they are not dangerous but they can feel like you are having a heart attack. Your doctor should be able to give you something that will help to calm you. My doctor does not prescribe the popular anti-anxiety meds but yours should be able to help you and if he/she does not, then I would talk to a psychiatrist. Don't be ashamed. Anxiety is not your fault but there are lots of things that you can do to help yourself so don't give up. Take care.

hey man, i am the same age as you. i have been suffering from anxiety and panic lately too. it is totally normal for your heart to beat faster...its your body's reaction to anxiety. it is not dangerous. its no different than when you walk fast or run and your heart beats faster.

my heart beats fast when i have anxiety. dont worry about it. just know that its the anxiety doing it to you and you should feel better.

also, know that you aren't alone, all of us deal with anxiety. it helps to talk about it.

take care bud, and keep posting!

palps or a banging shaking heart are common from stress and worry, ignore them as they do no harm, if you worry, tune in or monitor your heart things always get worse
try some deep slow breathing and learn new relaxation and stress reduction methods
a beta blocker med such as inderal, taken as needed, will calm the heart and other physical but not mental anxiety problems
many docs dont think of this and so need to be reminded, these meds are all out of patent and available cheaply so arent advertised
yoiu may need to try several of them at different doses to find 1 that suits you
