This has to be the worst month for my menstrual cycle. Yesterday I was so upset, very irritable (anything my boyfriend said I took offense or rolled my eyes) and very anxious. Today I’m feeling depressed, my tummy hurts and I just want to cry. I've always had a hard time around this time of month generally a few days before the cycle but this month feels like I’m going crazy. To make matters worse I’m a complete hypochondriac so any abnormal feeling I get I instantly label what I’m feeling and search for answers thinking maybe I’ve got this or that. Ahh the joys of being a woman with an anxiety disorder. And my poor poor boyfriend who has to deal with it.

Hi Georgia

Sorry you feel so lousy, I never had that problem, but my sister does. She says she feels absolutely crazy around that time of the month, I can vouch for that. Her doctor upped her meds and she is much better now. I think our hormones play a big part in our anxiety, so being more ancious around your cycle may be normal for you. Maybe you should let you doctor know what's going on, I'm sure s/he will be able to help.

My anxiety is always worse at that time of the month. I totally beleive that hormonal & chemical changes in our body affect A/P. I do also get crabby, but anxiety actually makes me moodier.

Yes, yes, yes!! I definitely have that problem!! In fact, my A/P was originally diagnosed as a really bad case of PMS.  As I've gotten older, the PMS had changed to PMS, DMS (during menstrual cycle :-) ) and AMS (after menstual cycle for a couple of days :-) ).  Sometimes I feel like I just want to jump out of my skin.  I did have my hormones tested, and everything came back normal though.  Guess we just have to ride those waves...

I right there with you sister! I just got my monthly a couple of days ago and my emotions were all over the place this week. Sometimes I think I need meds, but I'm only bad for about 3 or 4 days out of the month and I don't want to have to take meds every day for such a short amount of time. I bounce between being irritable, sad, anxious. Hormones suck! I am dreading menopause. It's always something with us girls, isn't it?

Yep I know Exactly what you are talking about guys.  I literally feel like I'm going Crazy when I'm pre-menstrual it magnifies every little thing.  I'm lucky I haven't had a cycle for five months now because my weight is too low.  I'm actually glad about that because I don't get pre-menstrual anxiety anymore.  The normal anxiety is enough thanks!!! Hope you feel better so Georgia

hi georgia, im sorry, but i can relate so much, i have the most worst panic around that time of the month, the week before is such a nightmare. Im worried that i havent had one in the past 6-8 weeks, im hoping its just giving me a break cause of surgery, but i dont know. I wish i had a great answer and had something that would make it easier. Keep your head up and the best to you

I had the worst headaches that would make it almost impossible to go to work, etc. After a hysterectomy 3 years ago, no more headaches.

God bless.
