Sometimes out of nowhere my throat will swell up. It isn't painful and doesn't seem to inhibit breathing at all, but it is annoying at least and freaks me out sometimes at worst. It feels like I'm being strangled by a really weak guy, and I can feel the back of my throat balloon up, kind of like when a cold is just starting up, minus the soreness. I have no food allergies that I know of (and it often happens long after I've eaten anyways) and the frequency doesn't seem to change with seasonal allergies, which I don't usually have either.
My dad has panic disorder too, and tells me it's just one of the anxiety/panic symptoms, but I sort of don't believe him and wonder if it's from something more serious. Does anyone else ever experience this regularly?

I get it too and I truly do believe it is A/P related
WE have things in body that will do that to fight off some infections

** reason now that they rarely take out tonsils unless absoultely necessary since they found there is more benefit to haviing tonsils ( fight infections) than not

you need to get a doc to look  at your throat to see if any swelling is there, if so this should be investigated

anxiety sufferers can feel swelling or a lump in the throat when nothing is actually there
